The GT Asia Series has been buoyed by the news that Motul, one of the world’s leading motorsport specialists in high-tech performance lubricants, will join the series for the full 11-race program which starts in South Korea next week, as the official lubricant of the GT Asia Series.
David Sonenscher – Joint Series Director of the GT Asia Series – welcomed Motul into Asia’s leading GT championship, citing the growth in the region and the international interest as key reasons behind the increasing profile of the category.
“I’m delighted to announce that Motul will join the GT Asia Series from 2015, further cementing a relationship that they have with many of the leading teams that compete in the GT Asia Series,” David Sonenscher said.
“We have a strong program ahead, with some outstanding events, including our first three-hour race at Sepang, following on from what was a very successful season in 2014. We also have significant interest from the manufacturers too, with factory supported teams from Ferrari, McLaren, Bentley and Aston Martin, so the competition will be intense, just the kind of environment where Motul excels.”
“We’re proud to be in partnership with the GT Asia Series for the forthcoming season,” Samuel Kang, Motul Asia Pacific said. “The GT Asia Series has gained significant presence in recent years, and interest from teams and manufacturers continues to grow.
“Motul has enjoyed a fantastic partnership with a number of the GT Asia Series teams over the years as a supplier of cutting edge lubricants and brake fluids, so it made perfect sense for us to partner with the Series to support their efforts and the growth in the category for the future.”
The GT Asia Series is sanctioned by the FIA as an International Series and is clearly recognised as the Region’s leading GT Championship. It is jointly managed and promoted by Motorsport Asia Ltd and the Supercar Club Hong Kong.
