The team with Audi number 74, received a rear impact which caused damages to the car.

The round 2 of Blancpain Endurance Series was held this weekend in Silverstone, a large entry list of sixty two cars were placed in the starting line of the English meeting.

Anders Fjordbach travelled to United Kingdom after having contested the 24h of Nurburgring for maintaining the race pace between Blancpain race weekends. His Italian team mate Fabio Onidi was totally recovered of the injuries in the back that he had after the accident that he suffered with the Audi R8 in the inaugural meeting in Monza.

Anders commented before the start of the meeting “It’s great that Fabio is present here with Andrea and I. We really form a good team at the wheel of the R8 in this series and after not be in Main race in Monza, for us it will be the first complete meeting in this championship”.

The team Onidi, Fjordbach and Roda made a correct set up in his car in initial practice sessions in Silverstone, and that work was soon rewarded with an excellent fifteen place in the race starting grid, achieved in the official qualifying session.

Main Race was programmed by a time length of 3 hours with a rolling race start system, which switched on the race for the large starting grid of this event. Anders Fjordbach was the first to drive the Audi, he was running searching a good pace and he was defending his position from the attacks of a big group of drivers that were battling each other, in his back.

With some good moments on the track, Fjordbach leaved the controls of the car to his team mates.

Completed 2/3 of the total race distance, the Audi #74 was unfortunately forced to be parked in the box of the team, after receiving an impact in the rear left side. As a result of the incident, a part a spin in the track, a driveshaft was broken causing mechanical problems to the R8.

Anders Fjordbach reported after the retirement: “We were in a good starting position after the qualifying, the team made an amazing job being in the first fifteen cars of a stunning grid of 62 cars. In Main Race we were trying to maintain our pace but sadly other car hit us in the rear and as a consequence of that, we had mechanical problems until we were forced to not finish the race. Fabio and Andrea worked fantastic all the weekend, we hope that in next Endurance race in Paul Ricard we will have an opportunity to show our speed”

Next racing compromise for High Class Racing will be in circuit of Zolder (05-07/June) with the third round of Blancpain Sprint Series.
