Matt Griffin is heading to Germany this weekend to compete in the 5th and final round of the 2015 Blancpain Endurance Series held at the iconic Nurburgring circuit.

Despite having already taken the Pro Am championship title for the year, GT ace Griffin, and teammate Duncan Cameron will still be aiming for a race win in their number 51, AF Corse run Ferrari 458.

The duo claimed the championship after finishing 2nd at Spa 24 hour held in July and now hold a 40 point lead going in to this weekend’s race; the title cannot be taken away from them.

“In my opinion the Blancpain Endurance Series is by far the best GT Championship in the world, so to win the championship is fantastic and to win it with a round in hand is even better”, says Griffin.

The 2015 championship has not shown any issues for the team and has been relatively plain sailing from start to finish.

“Duncan and I have had a fantastic run in the Blancpain Endurance Series, finishing second at Monza, fourth at Silverstone, third at Paul Ricard and second at the Total 24 Hours of Spa. In fact, Silverstone was the only race in which we didn’t finish in the top-10 overall. I have to say a big thank you to Ferrari and AF Corse, as our strategy, reliability and speed has been fantastic.  At the end of the day it’s a Pro-Am championship, and Duncan this year has driven amazingly, so he definitely deserves this championship.  I am very much looking forward to a relaxing race at the Nürburgring, but I am a racing driver and so the aim is to always win.” Griffin explained.

There will be no rest for the Irishman as he heads straight to China ready for the 5th round of the GT Asia Series to be held at Shanghai International Circuit on 25-27 September 2015.
