Kuwaiti driver Khaled Al Mudhaf and Saudi Arabian driver Mohammed Jawa will join Dubai based Dragon Racing for the upcoming Gulf 12hrs and the Dubai 24hrs, piloting the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3.
The first endurance race will be held at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi for the Gulf 12hr from Dec 11th-13th. The Gulf 12hr is a two part format event giving teams two races of six hours, there are 60 cars entered into this event which is now in its third year running.
One month later the Dunlop Dubai 24hrs will take place from January 9th-11th, 2014 at the Dubai Autodrome for the ninth year running of this annual event. This is the first International endurance race of the new year for GT’s, touring cars and 24H Specials, it is arguably one of the largest grids with over 90 cars entered.
Khaled returned to Kuwait recently after his debut in the European Le Mans series where he piloted the LMP2 prototype at the Hungaroring circuit. He has a wealth of experience in GT’s and Endurance racing.
Mohammed Jawa is no stranger to the podium, he has raced Radicals since 2009, and in 2012 he was runner up in the Radical SR3 Winter Cup and fourth in the Maserati Trofeo Middle East Championship in 2011.
This will be another new challenge for me with the Ferrari 458 GT3 and I’m really looking forward to racing on the two circuits that I know so well as my home tracks. The Yas Marina Gulf 12hrs is a great two part format with two races of six hours, giving us a two hour break in between, we have another twelve Ferraris in our class so it will be close fought race I’m sure,” commented Khaled.

“This will be my second year running in the Dubai 24hr race and I’m under no illusions again how tough this one will be, there are around 90 cars confirmed in this race and competition is always very tough, with no let up for a continuous 24hrs, it’s a tough one for the team and technicians as well. Dragon Racing has an excellent track record of racing overall, so I’m confident that we can all put on a good show for the fans and challenge for the win,” said Khaled.
