The first six hours of the Gulf 12 Hours have been completed at Yas Marina Circuit. Kessel Racing has kept the lead with the #11 Ferrari 458 Italia, after taking first position early on in the race.
Following an accident off the start between the #88 Dragon Ferrari 458 Italia and the #87 GDL Porsche, the Safety Car was deployed on track. After 12 laps behind the Safety Car, the race was green-flagged and ran smoothly without any major incidents until the first chequered flag.
Kessel Racing are also in first place in the PRO AM with the #51 Ferrari, followed by the #55 AF Corse and #38 the Black Pearl by Rinaldi Ferrari.
The MRS GT-Racing Porsche #20 has not given away the lead in CUP class and is ahead by almost two laps. Brookspeed and their #40 Porsche are currently in second place, with the sister MRS-Porsche in third.
The teams are now allowed to work on the cars and do repairs and adjustments. With high temperatures, the track was slippery but conditions will change when the second part of the race will start tonight at 17:45 local time under flood-light.
