It is a long time now since we have posted some news about Juno Racing Cars. The British manufacturer had been very performing in the VdeV Prototype  Endurance Challenge in 2007, Rob Croydon and Adrian Mardlin claiming the first two positions in the drivers standings with their Juno M23 CN.

Since then, Juno has mostly focused itself on the British Series, including the SPEED EuroSeries. However, we could see in a next future the Junos abroad, the company setting its sights on the new LMP3 created by the ACO, as Ewan Baldry, Head of Juno Racing Cars, has kindly told us :

Ewan Baldry : “We have won some funding from the UK goverment agency called Technology Strategy Board (TSB). This is contributing funds to enable the manufacture of a brand new design. We have already done lots of design and CFD development of the car and it represents a huge step forward in aero performance over our already competitive CN2013 car.

The car features a raised footbox carbon fibre monocoque chassis.

We were about to start the build of the new car but then the news came out on the ACO’s plans to introduce LMP3. We want to ensure that our new design will fit with these yet to be published regulations and so have put the build on hold until the regs are published. Hopefully they won’t be too far away from CN regulations.

As for 2014, TFL Racing will be campaigning one of the existing Junos with an all girl driver line up. TFL are looking to find drivers for the second car they have.”
