Aston Martin factory driver Jonny Adam will notch up his 25th race weekend of the year when he joins Oman Racing Team on the grid at the prestigious Gulf 12 Hours this Friday (December 11).

The Scotsman will join team-mates Ahmad Al Harthy and Darren Turner behind the wheel of an Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 at Yas Marina Circuit looking to add yet another highlight to an incredibly successful season.

In addition to winning the 2015 British GT title with Beechdean AMR and securing the Sunoco Whelen Challenge and a drive at the Rolex 24 Hours, the Fifer scored a World Endurance Championship podium finish in the GTE PRO category in Bahrain last month alongside Darren Turner before returning to Scotland to pick up two major awards from the Scottish Motoring Racing Club to add to his trophy haul for the season.

After receiving the William Lyons and the John Romanes Swift awards from fellow Scots Dario Franchitti and Sir Chris Hoy respectively in recognition of his success on track this season and also for his contribution to Scottish motorsport away from it, Adam has set his sights on one last successful outing in Abu Dhabi.

“To get a podium finish in Bahrain was a great way to finish off the 2015 World Endurance Championship for everyone at Aston Martin Racing. The pace was a lot closer to that of the rival factory Ferrari and Porsche teams, and through clever strategy and great pit stops it was a well deserved result for Darren and the whole #97 crew. It gives everyone a boost heading into the 2016 season with the new, updated version of the Aston Martin Vantage GTE.

“Now we’re focussed on delivering for Oman Racing at the Gulf 12 Hours. It’s a really important event for Ahmad and the team, with lots of fans and sponsors in attendance. On a personal level it’s a circuit I’ve wanted to race at for a while, and getting to do so alongside two drivers I know well is a bonus. With the experience of the Motorbase team and the durability of the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in long-distance events we definitely have all the ingredients needed to secure a good result.”
