This weekend, Misano will host the sixth and one-before-last round of the Italian GT Championship that Joel Camathias will attend driving, as usual, the Autorlando Sport Porsche 911 R shared with Mauro Calamia. For the Swiss pair, it will be an opportunity to wipe off the somehow frustrating performance at the last round of the series, in Vallelunga, a fortnight ago. The objective is to do better, although it won’t be easy given the high level of competiveness in the series this year.
Joel and Mauro will try to build on the success collected at the track on the shores of the Adriatic at the beginning of the summer, when they won among GT cars in the ECC 3 Hours.
Joel Camathias:
“The Italian GT heads towards its final phase, with only two rounds remaining. The fight is getting fierce, and with our Porsche having reached its development ceiling, it will be difficult to fight against rivals having more means than us. Still, we will give our best as always. Misano is not the track where I have raced the most recently, although our win last June in the ECC night race is a good premice. We hope that the work done then on the set-up and balance of the car turns out useful to be competitive as from free practice and qualifying, which will be crucial to get good race positions.”
