Just back from Japan, where he made a second outing in the GT Asia Series, Joel Camathias is traveling again, this time to the United Kingdom, where next weekend will take place the fifth round of the 2014 International GT Open 2014. The legendary Silverstone GP track will see the start of the second half of the season of the series that the Swiss driver enters with the Autorlando Sport Porsche 911R together with his Italian team mate, Matteo Beretta.
After a relative set-back at the Hungaroring, which followed three consecutive podium finishes, Joel and the entire team are determined to do well on the fast track in Northamptonshire, which should be more favorable to the Porsche. The objective is to continue to grow and aim again at the podium.
Joel Camathias:
“This is being a season full of commitments and travel. Now we head to Silverstone, a track that has always been friendly to me. I love this kind of fast track, with flat-out corners, and I have done well there in the past. Theoretically, the Porsche should be more at ease there although we don’t have to forget that the 911 R has serious sompetitors. A lot will also depend on the weather conditions, always quite unpredictable in Britain, but if we manage to find a good car balance, I think we should be fine and we can continue making progress.”
