Jeroen Bleekemolen was the fastest driver on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, resulting in Barwell Motorsport’s second 24H BARCELONA pole position. Right at the very end of the session the Dutch driver set the fastest time of 1:49.225, pushing the Scuderia Praha Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 (#11 Jiri Pisarik/Josef Král/Matteo Malucelli/Peter Kox) down to second place. Malucelli was 0.152 seconds slower than Bleekemolen. Third fastest was the Massive Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 (#55, Casper Elgaard/Roland Poulsen/Christoffer Nygaard/Kristian Poulsen), 0.933 seconds behind the Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini.
Fastest in the A6-Am class was the Drivex Audi R8 LMS ultra (#49, William Paul/Daniel Diaz Varela/Andrés Saravia/Saud Al Faisal), although Saravia’s fastest time of 1:50.590 will see the car being moved to A6-Pro. The first A6-Am car not to go faster than the minimum reference lap time in A6-Am was the IDEC SPORT RACING Mercedes-AMG GT3 (#17, Patrice Lafargue/Paul Lafargue/Alban Varutti/Dimitri Enjalbert) with a lap time of 1:53.144
Xavier Maassen qualified the MRS GT-Racing Porsche 991 Cup (#78 Charles Putman/Charles Espenlaub/Joe Foster/Xavier Maassen) on pole in the 991 class. The Dutchman was two tenths of a second faster than the MSG Motorsport Porsche 991 Cup (#62, Cody Hill/Andrew Gordon-Colebrooke/Nico Rindlisbacher/Alex Autumn/Luca Rettenbacher). Third fastest was the #79 MSG Motorsport Porsche 991 Cup (Meisam Taheri/Zach Arnold/Hendrick Still/Paul Scheuschner/Jose Manuel Balbiani).
Sven Barth took the RWT Racing Team Chevrolet Corvette C6 (#200, Gerd Beisel/Sven Barth/Joachim Kiesch/Daniel Keilwitz) to pole in SP2. Next in the class was the Team Icer Brakes Porsche 991 Cup (#82, Jesús Diez Villaroel/José Manuel de los Milagros/Jean-Michel Gerome/Bob Wilwert), with the Speedlover Porsche 991 Cup (#84, Pierre-Yves Pague/Philippe Richard/Carlos Rivas/Grégory Paisse) taking third place for tomorrow’s race.
Jamie Stanley put the track-club Lotus Evora GT4 (#111, Jamie Stanley/Adam Knight/Adam Balon/Ben Clucas/Glenn Sherwood) on pole in the SP3 class, beating the RTR Projects KTM X-BOW GT4 (#224, Tomas Miniberger/Tomas Kwolek/Daniel Skalický/Erik Janis). Miniberger was three tenths slower than his British rival. Hankook 24H Silverstone winners Team ABBA with Rollcentre Racing BMW M3 V8 (#246, Richard Neary/Martin Short/Shaun Hollamby/Graham Coomes) qualified third in class.
The battle for pole in TCR went all the way to the end of the session, with Sebastiaan Bleekemolen eventually claiming pole in the Team Bleekemolen Seat Leon Cup Racer (#127, Sebastiaan Bleekemolen/Michael Bleekemolen/Melvin de Groot/Rene Steenmetz). Red Camel-Jordans.nl (#303, Rik Breukers/Ivo Breukers/Klaus Kresnik) qualified their Seat Leon Cup Racer in second place, ahead of the Baporo Motorsport Seat Leon Cup Racer (#325, Laia Sanz/Jaime Font/Francesc Gutiérrez Agüi).
Team Altran Peugeot took another pole in the A3 class. Quickest was the #208 Peugeot 208 GTi (Guillaume Roman/Stéphane Ventaja/Kim Holmgaard/Michael Carlsen).They beat the Cor Euser Racing BMW M3 (#71, Dom Bastien/Dirk Schulz/Cor Euser/Meisam Taheri) and the MDM Motorsport BMW 320D (#118, Mark Bus/Simon Knap/Rob Severs/Bas van de Ven).
Peugeot will also start from pole in A2, as the MILAN COMPETITION Peugeot RCZ (#44, Denis Gibaud/Carlos Antunes Tavares/Jean-Marc Thevenot/Nicolas Milan) set the fastest time. The Team K-Rejser Peugeot RCZ (#171, Jacob Kristensen/Jan Engelbrecht/Claus Bertelsen/Jens Mølgaard) was second fastest, the presenza.eu Racing Team Clio Renault Clio Cup IV (#212, Tim Söderhamn/Niels Nyboe/Christian Rytter/Nicholai Sörensen) third fastest.
