The season finale of the 2015 edition BlancPain Endurance Series is just around the corner, held at the iconic Nürburgring this weekend.
The GP track layout plays host to the iRacing.com GT500, as the race is called this year, shortening the race distance by 500 kilometers.
Insight Racing Denmark will arrive at the track in the Eiffel mountains with what is basically a new car after the last race, the 24 hour race at Spa-Francorchamps. The drivers have high hopes for this weekend’s racing, knowing that they were running at the very front of the field in the last round, until two separate incidents hampered their race and finally had to withdraw.
56 GT3 cars have been entered into the final race of the BES-season with plenty to fight for in most of the classes. For Insight Racing Denmark, the finale is all about ending the season on a high after mixed results – and preferably to end among the point scoring positions.
The Ferrari 458 Italia #17 sits ninth in the Pro Am Cup for teams, a position that could very well be bettered with points at Nürburgring.
Martin Jensen, teammanager and driver:
“We are ready and back in form after a very long summer break. We have had to rebuild the car again with new bodywork after, but now it’s looking all good after the 24H race at Spa.
The BOP (Balance of Performance) looks a lot like the one at Spa-Francorchamps, so we should be in a good position. We have shown our speed at several times during the season, but luck has not been on our side. We can only hope that has changed, so we can end the season with a good result and begin to look ahead.”
