Insight Racing Denmark is heading for a good dress rehearsal in BlancPain Endurance Series at French Paul Ricard. Third round of the endurance championship is a precursor to the 24 hour race at Spa-Francorchamps.

Danish Ferrari-outfit Insight Racing Denmark is looking forward to what is generally labelled as a dress rehearsal to the twice round the clock race in July. The six hour race at Paul Ricard is a great endurance race in its own right, being run on Saturday from 1700. Again the BES fields a very strong grid of 63 cars.

Paul Ricard is also the venue of the pre-season BOP-test (Balance of Performance). That means the impressive facilities and track is wellknown to the drivers and also a place where the Danish team feels at home.

Martin Jensen, teammanager and driver:

“The BOP has been adjusted again a bit, this time in our direction. After the big penalty we had before the Silverstone race with the increased ride height, we are now again back to the level at Monza, more or less. We have had some extra weight added to the car, but that has less influence on the handling.

We are of course looking ahead to the six hour race which, as opposed to the normal three hour races, gives us more time in the cockpit. I am certainly looking forward to racing more than my usual 50 minutes.

The race is a welcome opportunity to prepare for Spa, and as we finish the race in the dark, we get to test our endurance lights.

The track suits me really well, and Dennis also showed good speed during the test in the spring, so this time we stick to our goal of finishing in the top five in our class.”

Dennis Andersen, driver:

“I will be going in to this weekend’s race with some optimism – we showed our speed here earlier this year during testing, and the BOP is closer to where we found a really good balance in the car.

And it will be good to put some extra miles under the belt!”

Test and practice session are Friday, while qualifying and the race are Saturday. The race starts at 1700h.
