Typical Eifel weather at the start of the night session

Intermittent rain showers

Goal: bringing all Mercedes-AMG GT3 into the Top 30 qualifying

Christian Hohenadel, AMG-Team HTP Motorsport #29: “It was very difficult. At times, it was raining, but we stayed out on track and hit a dry time window. The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is running very well and I safely brought the car back into the pits as rain set in again. Now, my colleagues still have to complete their mandatory laps and then we will see.”

Maro Engel, AMG-Team BLACK FALCON #4 und #9: “With slicks, it wasn’t easy with the drizzle in the opening stages. On the first lap, keeping the Mercedes-AMG GT3 on the track was the priority. On the second lap, the track dried out again and our time was fast enough for the temporary lead. Our goal is to bring the car with starting number #9 still into the Top 30 qualifying session.”

Maximilian Götz, HARIBO Racing Team-AMG #8 und #88: “We try to still bring the car with starting number #88 into the Top 30 qualifying. With the #8 car, we are qualified already. Now, times get faster and faster after the rain. The session is still running until 23.30 hrs and certainly, some things will still happen, but our position is quite good and I think that the time is enough to eventually qualify both Mercedes-AMG GT3.”

Kenneth Heyer, MANN-FILTER Team ZAKSPEED: “Initially, we had a lot of rain showers that we had to adapt to. But that is typical for the Nordschleife. The car is running perfectly, I always had a good feeling, also on wet parts.”
