Home round in Monza for GT Open leaders Montermini / Schirò

Scuderia Villorba Corse facing the seventh and penultimate International GT Open’s round on its home track at Monza from September 26 to 28. Race drivers Andrea Montermini and Niccolò Schirò are leading the championship with Villorba Ferrari 458. They took the leadership after a very good podium clinched in previous round at SPA. So Monza is a crucial week end to the championship. Italian team led by Raimondo Amadio will try to extend their leadership as, at the moment, the F.1 driver from Modena and the talented rookie from Milan are only one point ahead their major contender.

Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal: “We are ready for Monza. This is the lone Italian round of the championship and we’ll be there to score some good results to the standings. Monza gave us great satisfaction in the past as we lived unforgettable racing weekends there. We know that it will be a very tough challenge, but I’m sure that the whole team and drivers give their best like they did at the highest level all season long.”    

Andrea Montermini: “Monza is very a demanding track, but we can count on our Ferrari 458 speed and aerodynamics. For sure also our opponents will be ready for this crucial weekend so we have to set up the car find out the right car in the most effective way.”

Italian weekend will start on Friday September 26th with two free practice sessions at 11.15 a.m. and at 3.05 p.m. On Saturday September 27th Qualifying 1 will take place at 11.05 a.m., followed by race 1 at 3.55 p.m. On Sunday September 28th race 2 qualifyng session will start at 9.40 a.m. while Race 2 will take place at 1.25 p.m. Both races will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net .
