With three hours of the Hankook 12H Zandvoort completed, the Hofor-Racing Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 (#9, Michael Kroll/Chantal Kroll/Kenneth Heyer/Bernd Küpper/Roland Eggimann) leads the field. The cars stay in parc fermé overnight until the race will get underway again tomorrow at 09:20 hrs. The Precote Herberth Motorsport Porsche 991 GT3 R (#911, Daniel Allemann, Ralf Bohn, Robert Renauer, Alfred Renauer) will start from second behind the Hofor-Racing Mercedes. Following next are the Car Collection Motorsport Audi R8 LMS (#33, Horst Felbermayr Jr./Marc Basseng/Max Edelhoff/Peter Schmidt), the second Hofor-Racing Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 (#10, Michael Kroll/Chantal Kroll/Kenneth Heyer/Christian Frankenhout/Lance-David Arnold), and the Massive Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 (#55, Casper Elgaard/Kristian Poulsen/Nicolai Sylvest/Roland Poulsen). The first three cars are still on the lead lap.
The current order is strongly influenced by strategy decisions. Parc fermé rules apply until the race will be restarted. Except for the leading Mercedes, all the top five cars pitted in the closing stages to have fresh tyres and a huge load of fuel for tomorrow’s first stint. Meanwhile, the leading Hofor-Racing Mercedes went for track position and will stop soon after the restart tomorrow.
The Ram Racing Mercedes AMG GT3 (#30, Tom Onslow-Cole/Paul White/Stuart Hall), that left from pole position, will have to start with a ten-lap-penalty. On the penultimate lap, Paul White collided with a lapped Porsche and had to come to the pits for repairs, which is an infringement of the parc fermé rules. Ram Racing drove in second place the moment the incident happened.
Drama stroke in the 991 Porsche Cup class as well. The HRT Performance Porsche 991 Cup (#73, Fabian Engel/Stephen Borness/Kim André Hauschild/Renger van der Zande) had to hand over the class lead after a spin on the penultimate lap. Thereby, best 991 car was the MRS GT-Racing Porsche 991 Cup (#78, Charles Putman/Charles Espenlaub/Xavier Maassen).
Cor Euser led the SP3 class in his Cor Euser Racing Lotus Evora GT4 (#70, Sam Allpass/Dom Bastien/Cor Euser) with a huge margin in the beginning of the race. Occasionally, the Lotus dropped down to third. However, both JR Motorsport BMW, the M3 F80 Endurance (#103, Eric vd Munckhof/Daan Meijer) and the E90 (#102, Bob Herber/Steven Liquorish/Marting Lanting) suffered late problems and handed the lead back to Cor Euser Racing. One lap down is the Nova Race Ginetta G55 GT4 (#284, Luca Magnoni/Roberto Gentili/Michael Hofmann/Luca Rangoni), followed by the Tischner Motorsport BMW E46 M3 Coupe (#104, Michael Tischner/Matthias Tischner/Ulrich Becker).
Despite a trip to the gravel bed at Tarzan Bocht, the NKPP Racing Seat Leon Cup Racer (#125, Gijs Bessem/Harry Hilders) managed to take the TCR class lead into the second part of the Hankook 12H ZANDVOORT. But the Red Camel-Jordans.nl Seat Leon Cup Racer (#303, Ivo Breukers/Rik Breukers) is still on the same lap. The Team Bleekemolen Seat Leon Cup Racer (#127, Sebastiaan Bleekemolen/Melvin de Groot) is already four laps down.
The championship leaders of the Team Altran Peugeot 208 GTi (#208, Kim Holmgaard/Guillaume Roman/Stéphane Ventaja) led the A3 class with a two-lap-margin. The second Team Altran Peugeot 208 GTi (#205, Thierry Boyer/Stéphane Cristinelli/Gonzalo Martin de Andres) will try to make up some ground from second place in class. The Sorg Rennsport BMW M235i Racing Cup car (#151, Maciej Dreszer/Kevin Warum/Heiko Eichenberg) finished on the same lap.
The Team K-Rejser Peugeot RCZ (#171, Jacob Kristensen/Jan Engelbrecht/Jens Mølgaard) took over the class lead in A2 after having left from second on the grid. The RKC/TGM Honda FD2-Civic Type-R, that had started from pole position, came home in second place. Third was the Team Sally Racing Renault Clio Cup III (#172, Martin Sally Pedersen/Peter Obel/Mads Christensen/Jannik Larsen).
