Greaves Motorsport secured by Kairos is pleased to confirm its driver line up for 2015 with Gary Hirsch, Jon Lancaster and Björn Wirdheim as their drivers in the European Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The trio had a very profitable time on track during the ELMS Official Test Days held at Circuit Paul Ricard last month, cementing their bond as team mates and gelling with the team.

Gary has had an extensive career in karting and single seaters, Gary turned his attention to endurance sportscar racing in 2013 and was rewarded by winning the ELMS LMPC Drivers Title with three wins in five races. Graduating to LM P2 in 2014 he built upon that success with an outright win at the 4 Hours of Paul Ricard and podiums at Silverstone and Estoril and  6th at Le Mans 24 (LM P2 class):

“I am honoured and happy to join Greaves Motorsport. I have been in touch during the past few years with Tim and Jacob Greaves, but I believe it is always a question of good timing. The team invited me to test the car in February and I immediately felt comfortable with the environment. The Gibson proved to be a winning car during the past years and I believe we have a solid package thanks to the Gibson – Nissan – Dunlop collaboration. I discovered a well organized and professional structure with the Greaves secured by Kairos team. The work that has been achieved by the team to build the program thanks to their new partnership with Kairos Technologies is quite unique. The team want to see the car back at the top and that was a clear indication on the efforts and expectations placed into the program.”

“I had the opportunity to meet my teammates at Circuit Paul Ricard. I did not know Björn before the test, but his comprehensive experience in many forms of motorsport will be a great asset. Jon was a tough competitor when we raced against each other in Formula Renault, back in 2007. Being able to share the steering wheel with such a competitive pair of drivers is definitely good for all of us.”

“Obviously we’ll face strong competition this year. It is a new journey for myself and a step in my career which allows me to look into the future of endurance racing with a focus on the sporting side. We must keep cool heads avoiding mistakes to expect a good outcome. I am heading to Silverstone with a mixture of excitement and enthusiasm and of course cautious optimism! ”

The first round of the 2015 European Le Mans Series will take place on Saturday 12th of April at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.
