Europe’s roughest and toughest GT3 teams will be arriving for the Spa (Belgium) 24h Race this week. For the first time, Emil Frey Racing will be starting at the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup with two Emil Frey GT3 Jaguars.

For Emil Frey Racing, the deployment of a second Emil Frey GT3 Jaguar doubles its chances of passing the finishing line and repeating its previous year’s success: in 2015, the Safenwil, Switzerland, based team achieved 9th place in the ProAm Class and 27th position overall.

This year, both cars will be starting in the highly competitive PRO Class. The two Emil Frey GT3 Jaguars will be up against 65 cars in total, 28 of which are direct competitors. The two British Big Cats will be the only GT3 racers in the field that were developed by a professional private team rather than by the manufacturer. The first car with starting number 14 will be steered by the usual, well-practiced trio Lorenz Frey (CH), Stéphane Ortelli (MC) and Albert Costa (E), while Markus Palttala (FIN), Jonathan Hirschi (CH) and Christian Klien (A) will be taking turns behind the wheel of the sister car with starting number 114.

“We’re looking forward tremendously to Spa 24 Hour Race. At the moment, we’re making the last preparations, and the cars will undergo another thorough check-over to ensure they’re ready for the toughest conditions. From Monday, we’ll be in Spa and make ourselves at home in our pits,” says Lorenz Frey about the countdown to the race.

The “Total 24 Hours of Spa”, as it is officially called, will start on Saturday, 31 July 2016 at 16:30h (CET).
