Chloé and Jade Edwards are set to enter the 2015 Avon Tyres British GT Championship with Stratton Motorsport in an Aston Martin Vantage GT4.
The sisters will reconvene their partnership with the Norfolk based team that have been involved with the Aston Martin brand for almost 40 years and are highly regarded within the GT world.
“I am so happy to be joining forces with my sister,” said Chloé “It’s something that we have always worked toward and for it to be confirmed that we are racing an Aston Martin in British GT is the best news imaginable!
“It’s a new situation for us; coming from sprint racing as we do and it means we can now eliminate sibling rivalry and use it to our advantage!”
The siblings come from a racing family that includes former BTCC driver and Renault Clio Cup Champion Jim Edwards Jnr and former British F3 racer Jim Edwards Snr.
2014 was an exceptional year for Jade, as it included a win and podiums in the Aston Martin Challenge, as well as wins in the Hungary 12 Hour and Race of Remembrance 8 hour. Whilst it marked Chloé’s return to racing after a brief break from the sport, proving her ability by partnering Jade to victory at the Aston Martin Challenge’s final round at Donington Park.
“I couldn’t be happier,” said Jade. “British GT was always my aim and it’s taken a lot of work to get here over the previous 12 months, but to take the next step in my career alongside my sister is just a perfect combination.
“GT racing is all about consistency and as Chloe and I are very close over a lap, I really think we can make an impact on the series next year. It’s a big step up for both of us, but to be involved with such a great brand like Aston Martin and with Stratton Motorsport, we can’t wait for the challenge to begin!”
