STRONG early interest for the 2015 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 hour has seen 34 entrants already committed to running the February 6-8 Event next year.

Entries opened on July 1, 2014 and do not close until December 11 with the entry list released today reflecting those who took advantage of the ‘early bird’ entry offer that ran until July 31.

A further 11 entry forms have been received to date by Event organisers, however have not completed all aspects of the entry or eligibility process and as such are not counted as official entries until finalised.

The early entry list reflects the diverse nature of the Bathurst 12 hour field with cars already confirmed in a majority of available classes – however it is apparent that the battle for outright victory will be every bit as competitive as the one witnessed in 2014.

Defending champions Maranello Motorsport were confirmed earlier as the first entrants, whilst former winners Erebus Motorsport have nominated a pair of their Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT3s in an attempt to return to the top step.

Having gone within 0.5s of winning this year, HTP Motorsport have confirmed their return while Garth Walden Racing will enter the fourth SLS in the field and will compete for the Gentlemen’s trophy, within Class A.

Ferrari’s crack Italian-based GT team, AF Corse, has entered two Ferrari 458 Italia’s (expected to be split between ProAm and Gentlemen’s Trophy classifications within Class A) while outright cars from Nissan, Porsche, Lamborghini, McLaren and Audi are reflected on the current entry list.

Event organisers can confirm additional interest from several key international teams still seeking to enter the race including long-time supporters Phoenix Racing, Haribo Racing from Germany and the M-Sport Bentley team, amongst others.

Class B (GT3 Cup) is expected to be hotly contested between Porsche GT3 Cup cars with Peter Conroy Motorsport amongst the first to confirm their participation.

Team owner Peter Conroy has confirmed that regular co-drivers Mark Brame and Anthony Robson will join him in a 997 GT3 Cup car while the team has also confirmed they will also make available their Class A Audi R8 LMS – used this year by Rotek Racing – for lease once again.

Defending class champions Grove Racing are also committed to returning to defend their title following a strong run to 8th outright and the class victory this year.

Swiss-based team, Aston Martin St. Gallen has confirmed their return to class C with a GT4-specification Aston Martin and at present are joined by the Donut King Lotus and a Ginetta G50 in the ‘baby GT’ class.

A host of production-based machinery has nominated in Class D, with a variety of competitive BMWs, the Bathurst debut of Audi’s TT RS and the hugely popular Daytona Coupe all confirmed.

Following a hugely successful race debut this year, Abarth Motorsport has once again entered three of the ‘pocket rocket’ Fiat Abarth 500s for a Bathurst return. Meanwhile, MARC Focus constructor Ryan McLeod has been vocal about his support of the Event and has committed at least three of his specially-built endurance racers, twelve months on from their global debut at the 2014 edition.

Further updates of the entry list will be released as details are made available, prior to entries closing on December 11 this year.
