Craft-Bamboo Racing has announced a title partnership with LUKOIL, to compete in the all-new TCR International Series, which is set to offer motorsport fans worldwide the chance to experience a new kind of touring car racing.
Entering the first ever TCR International Season under the name “Team Craft-Bamboo LUKOIL”, the team will be a competitive force on the grid with a trio of SEAT Leons taking their place at the inaugural race.
All three cars will receive LUKOIL branding and will be piloted by a strong driver line up which will be announced very soon. This partnership is a demonstration of the team’s clear intention to challenge for both the team and driver’s championship title in 2015.
The season will see a total of 12 races contested on three separate continents that include South America, Europe and Asia. The maiden race will be held in Malaysia, at the Sepang International Circuit on March 29th and will precede the Formula 1 Grand Prix. The series stays in Asia, travelling to Shanghai International Circuit where the series will once again run alongside the Formula 1 Grand Prix on April 12th.
The new for 2015 TCR International Series targets the C-segment (compact car/small family car) group with a maximum displacement of 2.0-litres.
Craft-Bamboo Racing has a successful Touring Car history dating back to 2009. In 2013 they claimed the independent title with a third place overall in the FIA World Championship, the only independent team ever to do so in the World Touring Car Championship.
The pursuit of the inaugural TCR international title would not be possible without the support of LUKOIL, Gravity, Team Dynamics and Orangebus.
