Cadillac Racing drivers Johnny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim are ready to return to Miller Motorsports Park in Utah for rounds 16 and 17 of the Pirelli World Challenge Championship to run Aug. 21 – 23.

O’Connell (Flowery Branch, Ga.) and Pilgrim (Boca Raton, Fla.) like the 3.08-mile, track located 35-minutes outside of Salt Lake City.  O’Connell remains third in GT standings, 145 out of the top spot. Pilgrim sits 18th due to some tough racing luck throughout the season.  The Cadillac duo have a string of podium finishes (four podium finishes out of six races) at the track, but have yet to stand on the top step.

“I’ve always liked Miller Motorsports Park,” O’Connell said. “For me it’s got nice rhythm and a few good over taking areas. The long front straight will let us really exercise the Cadillac.  Hopefully our new ATS-V.R will suit the circuit. It’s very smooth, which is something the GT3 cars all love.  A funny story, a few years back our qualifying actually got snowed out.  I was disappointed as it would have been cool to say we had qualified in the snow. I also like the great Salt Lake City area.”

Pilgrim likes the layout of the track, maybe too much.

“I think the Miller track is a classic ‘country club’ track in that it is very technical, which is perfect for people to do lapping and track days and not get bored,” Pilgrim said. “I enjoy racing there as unlike most ‘country club’ tracks it does actually have places to pass, maybe too many. We will need all of the power and handling maximized on our ATS-V.Rs to be quick at Miller.  Finding the balance between trimming out the aero and still having good corner speed will be the key for Cadillac Racing.  My favorite Miller story has to be the 2014 race weekend, where Cadillac Racing pulled out the manufacturer’s championship from right under the nose of Audi.  It was an amazing weekend and we’re hoping for another good one this Saturday and Sunday.”
