The second round of the Blancpain Endurance Series at Silverstone / England didn’t bring luck for Bentley Team HTP. Harold Primat (CH), Vincent Abril (F) and Mike Parisy (F) had every chance of a top-10 result in their Bentley Continental GT3 at Bentleys home race. But brake issues, which resulted in a puncture, led into an early end for the HTP-Bentley-trio.
Abril started from 20th position into the race, which featured a 60-car grid, the largest grid for a three-hour race of the Blancpain Endurance Series so far. The young Frenchman held the Bentley Continental GT3 within the top 20 and steadily worked his way forward. 40 minutes into the race, Bentley Team HTP took advantage of a full course yellow and pitted early. Parisy took over from Abril in 18th position, but had to return to the pits instantly after a brake issues caused a puncture.
“It is extremely unfortunate that we retired and could not show the great performance of our car at Silverstone“, Bentley Team HTP team principal Norbert Brückner said after the race. „We had a good race speed and after we changed strategy, we had a fair chance for a top result. Now we have a brief break before we will compete on the first weekend of June for the first time with four Bentley Continental GT3s at the ADAC GT Masters at Red Bull Ring and the Blancpain Sprint Series at Zolder.”
“The early retirement is very disappointing. We had a great car, an excellent strategy and all chances for a good result“, Mike Parisy said. „During the Full Course Yellow our engineer Renaud Dufour changed the strategy, but unfortunately, we could not take an advantage out of this.“
