SR-JACKIE CHAN and DAVID CHENG Racing are happy to announce that the mainland Chinese Team “Baxi DC Racing Alpine” will make their debut in 2016 in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the LMP2 class on Alpine A460.
“Myself and Sparkle Roll Group wishes to support and promote Chinese racing and drivers. Together with David Cheng, we created DC Racing. For this special year of the 110th anniversary of the ACO and following a great performance by our team in the Asian Le Mans Series, I am happy that we will have the privilege to race in the World Endurance Championship, and of course the 84th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans”.
“I look forward to personally attending this year’s 24 hour race to support my team and my compatriot drivers David Cheng, Ho-Pin Tung.”
“First of all, I am very grateful for Sparkle Roll group and Jackie Chan for their support. Together we had formed the idea to create this team just after the 24 hours of Le Mans last year. To have the privilege to participate in this famous race again as a driver and as the first Mainland Chinese team for the first time is very special. Not only that but I am very proud to represent the brand in the Alpine for the FIA World Championship FIA-WEC. I know that Alpine has a long and glorious History at Le Mans and endurance and I believe we have a competitive package in every aspect, especially with the Alpine A460-Nissan and anticipate the challenges to compete for the title.”
Rémy Brouard – Team Principal of DC Racing:
“The creation and the surge of DCR have been meticulously prepared with Ho-Pin Tung, David Cheng and SR Jackie Chan. Our participations to Shanghai WEC and to the 24h of Le Mans, allowed us to evaluate to its fair value the really high level of the LMP2 category. We know well Philippe Sinault (Alpine) and we have confidence in his management of the Team Alpine.
From our first meeting, we had the common desire to align two Alpine A460 in WEC and at Le Mans. Our goal is to fight for the victory in every race.”
!Ho-Pin Tung – Driver of DC Racing:
“I am a very happy man to have the opportunity to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2016! This is a dream that comes true. Over the last few years David Cheng and I have enjoyed many successes in the Asian Le Mans Series, I am proud that we are embarking on the next chapter of our great story together by joining the highly successful Alpine team, which gives me great confidence to continue our successes. And of course I am very excited that for the fourth consecutive time I will compete in the most challenging and most prestigious long distance race of all, the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The renewed support from TRS and Baxi shows the ever growing interest of endurance racing in China and we are now entering the world stage with them, I cannot wait until the FIA WEC season sparks off at Silverstone!”
