Johnny Mowlem, driving the No. 16 SpongeBob (the movie) / Autosports Designs / Southwest Realty Advisors / Top1 Oil Prototype Challenge car, locked up the pole position in the final lap of today’s qualifying. Mowlem turned in a blistering time of 1:42.318 averaging 125.257 mph. The car will start Saturday’s race 12th overall on the starting grid.

“I’m really happy for the team,” said Johnny. “Thanks to Brian, John Travis, our chief engineer, for setting up a great car and to all of the crew. I’m excited to start the Autosports Design / SpongeBob car from the pole.”

Car #61, sponsored by Southwest Realty Advisors / Autosport Designs Inc / Delta Powerboats, driven by Martin Plowman qualified 5th.
