With back-to-back wins in Austin and Virginia, BAR1 Motorsports find themselves poised for a homestretch run at the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron team and driver’s championships.

The late season charge is no surprise to the team. Their hard work and dedication has been constantly challenged by bad breaks through out the 2013 season. Showing Texas was no fluke, BAR1 enjoyed the first and third steps at the recent VIR Oak Tree Grand Prix.

Team owner, Brian Alder, spoke on behalf of the team following Saturday’s victory.

“It feels really good to be able to back up the win at COTA with another trip to victory lane here at VIR.  Putting our 2nd car on the podium was just the icing on the cake. It really made a great day even better!

“Both cars and teams really showed what they were made of this week. The crews, engineers, drivers… all had their game face on. I couldn’t be happier with the end results.

Chris Cumming in the No. 8 Evident Capital car and James French in the No. 7 PetroComm car drove outstanding first stints. Both pitted running 1st and 2nd before handing off to our pro drivers Kyle [Marcelli] and Rusty [Mitchell].

“The crews for both cars had flawless stops while battling with each other on pit lane all day. Our engineers laid out perfect race strategies yet agin.

“I think the momentum is definitely on our side as we head to the final race of 2013. Our eyes focused on the championship for both Driver and Team., while going for a Three-Peat at Petit.”

BAR1 Motorsports next appearance will be the final race in the American Le Mans Series chapter of sportscar racing in America. The team will compete at Petit Le Mans, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19, on the 2.54-mile Road America road course in Braselton, Ga. The 1000-mile / 10-hour race will start at 11:30 am. It will be televised live on FOX Sports 2 from 11 am to 12 noon, 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm, and 8 pm to 9:30 pm; and on FOX Sports 1 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. A delayed show will air on FOX Sports 1 on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
