An unfortunate weather front eliminated Race #2 at Watkins Glen International Raceway after an amazing last lap duel between Josh Norman in the #71 BAD Lambo Racing Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 and the #89 of Ryan Ockey in Race #1. Race #2 will now be the first race this coming weekend in what will be a three-race, and action packed weekend for the entire Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo 24-car field at Virginia International Raceway (VIR).
This will be the largest grid to date, and that’s been helped in part by the addition of a second Lamborghini Huracán LP 620-2 for Madison Snow in the #14 Universal Industrial Sales (www.uisutah.com) backed entry. “I’ve competed against Park Place Motorsports who supports the BAD Lambo Racing program for a few years now. The team is always running at the front of whatever race they’re in, so I had confidence that this would be a first rate program, and the timing was right for me to join the series.” Snow continues, “I haven’t had a chance to even test the car yet, but I’ve heard great things about the new car and the series, I’m really looking forward to getting started at VIR.”
Drivers of the #71 HighBloodCaliumIsBad.com, Jim and Josh Norman currently sit in second place in the Drivers’ AM category standings by a mere single point entering this weekend. With three races on the schedule, there will be ample opportunity to overtake the top spot in the standings as they look to fight for the title by seasons end.
Dr. Jim Norman of this weekends’ events states, “This is a drivers’ track, and we look forward to showing the great setup and preparation the BAD Lambo team will bring to the hills of Virginia. What makes this weekend even more special is that we’re hosting a number of doctors who have an interest in osteoporosis and calcium metabolism. It’s great to bring doctors and other members of the medical community to the track, and to help promote good health and awareness of the dangers of high blood calcium. I’m also really excited to have Madison Snow joining the program, I can’t wait to see these young guns (Josh and Madison) battle it out with the rest of the field this season.”
A relative unknown going into this season, Josh Norman has turned a lot of heads and gained a great deal of respect from his pears for his abilities behind the wheel. Josh has consistently posted fast lap times, and he and his father Jim have been on the podium in each of the three races in the 2015 racing season. “VIR is one of my favorite tracks with lots of great memories. I had my first real race at that track when I was 16, and I remember how intimidating the uphill esses were. Those curves are still a bit scary, but the track features some of the most fun turns in the world when you get the rhythm just right. We are looking forward to putting the BAD Lambo back on the podium and having a very successful weekend with our new teammate Madison Snow” states Josh.
