Another great performance in the FIA WEC for Joel Camathias, rewarded again with a podium: as in Mexico, the Swiss driver has conquered second in LMGTE Am at the 6 Housrs of the Circuit of the Americas, at Austin, Texas.
The trio composed of Joel, Wolf Henzler and Christian Ried has posted a perfect race in this second American round of the WEC, raced at night and with very warm weather, thus confirming the excellent level of competitiveness reached by the Porsche 911 RSR of Hong Kong-based team KCMG.
The WEC is now heading to Asia, with the next round scheduled at the Fuji Speedway, in Japan, on 15th October.
Joel Camathias:
“I am really happy: it has been a perfect weekend, without any hiccup, and we have always been battling for first position, since practice. Again, I have had the satisfaction to qualify the car, in third, and to take the start, but really it’s the entire team that has done a terrific work, giving us a car in perfect conditions. It has been a tough race, because even at night, the temperature and the humidity were oppressing, but everything has gone well, and personally, I felt very comfortable on a track which is exciting, but very technical. Now we can be happy for another great result and go to Asia with the perspective of continuing to do well.”
