Anders Fjordbach ends his first partial season in Blancpain Sprint Series with the vice-championship.
The Blancpain Sprint Series 2015 arrived to his season finale in Circuit Park of Zandvoort, in Netherlands after six exciting rounds and having visited in eight months a selection of the tracks with most character of Europe.
Anders Fjordbach, who had participated in some of the major events this season, don’t wanted to miss this final event with his Audi R8 LMS Ultra, and he was present this time with Danish DTC star Michael Markussen. He had the opportunity to replace Thomas Fjordbach who was running at the same time in Japan. “It will be great to drive with Markussen this weekend, I think that it will be really interesting for him to be here and test this car and experience an event of Blancpain GT Series. Sure that he will enjoy it“ explained Anders Fjordbach before the event.
Fjordbach ended his Blancpain season with a P2 in Silver Cup.
With a new driver team-mate, the Free Practice sessions driving at the wheel of the Audi R8 were useful to Fjordbach and Markussen. They spent time searching the best set up and tested some pit stops.
On Saturday’s Qualifying, Fjordbach/Markussen were working hard on track when a gearbox problem occurred and they were not able to fix it on time to complete the session. So they had to start the QR from the last zone of the grid.
In Qualifying Race, the Danish team with Audi number 74 ended in P2 in Silver Cup. They crossed the line at only 0,31 seconds to the Mercedes SLS of Karachev/Dontje. With this final, the Dutch fans were close to remember the interesting battles during the season between Anders and them.
The Main race programmed on Sunday 13:00 PM was the real last track activity for the drivers in this Blancpain Sprint season. Fjordbach and Markussen had a clean start, with no major problems, and started to made his own race, avoiding mistakes and with good times. After 36 laps, they finally ended in eleventh overall place and in second position in Silver Cup. The final result represented the 2015 vice-championship title in Silver Cup for Anders Fjordbach. This meant a fantastic result for the Danish driver in his first partial season inside this series.

The vice-championship achieved in Silver Cup was an excellent award for this learning season in Blancpain. I enjoyed this series, racing here represented a step forward in my racing carrier, that for sure will helps me in the future for next racing challenges” explained Anders Fjordbach after an intense 2015 Blancpain season.
Next racing compromise of High Class Racing will be for Thomas Fjordbach in Audi R8 LMS Cup, the 31/10 and 01/11 in Shanghai for the last round of the championship.
