Another extremely interesting and thrilling season ahead for the Spaniard who, teaming up with Netherland´s van Oostrum, approaches a double program: the Spanish Endurance Championship driving a SEAT León Cup Racer of PCR Sport and the V de V series with a new Ginetta-Nissan LMP3 entered by SpeedFactory Racing.
Álvaro Fontes is back in the spotlight with another exciting racing program at the international and national levels. The Spaniard, who was born in Málaga – Southern Spain-, is one of the main exponents of Andalusian motorsport and has confirmed his participation in the Spanish Endurance Championship and in the V de V, two series in which he will visit some of the most renowned racing tracks across Europe.
Besides, one of the most significant novelties is that Fontes will have a new teammate to team up with, Holland´s Mirco van Oostrum, who will make his motorsport debut with the Málaga-born driver. Known commonly as Speedy Gonzales, van Oostrum has already made considerable progress during private testing carried out at Ascari Race Resort in recent weeks.
Fontes and van Oostrum will share a new SEAT León Cup Racer for a full-season program, consisting of six rounds, in the Spanish Endurance Championship. Their car will be entered by PCR Sport, the Catalan outfit with which Fontes achieved brilliant results in the Supercopa SEAT León or the 24 hours of Barcelona. There are six meetings to be held at the following tracks: Valencia, Jarama, Motorland, Navarra, Estoril and Barcelona. Fontes will be another focus of attention in the V de V at the wheel of the new Ginetta-Nissan LMP3 prototype. The series will pay a visit to tracks such as Dijon, Paul Ricard or Magny-Cours.
“It is a real pleasure to announce this double program in 2015, competing at the highest level in Spain and in Europe. I am very excited starting this new venture working with Mirco, and I hope to be able to help him, always taking the right steps, something is not easy in motorsport”, Fontes stresses.
