Next to the well-established 24-hour races in Dubai and Barcelona, 2015 will see the premiere of a third 24-hour race as a part of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook: the Hankook 24H CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD (3-5 July, 2015). The announcement of this race in the south of France a few months ago was met with great enthusiasm by teams and drivers. After all, nobody will want to miss out on a trip to the south of France in the summer! “The Hankook 24H CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD will be the third 24-hour race on our calendar and while we have the most hours in the dark during our race in Dubai, this will be one of the races with the longest running in daylight,” says Gerrie Willems on behalf of CREVENTIC. The Dutch agency is the promoter and organiser of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook, in co-operation with the Dutch National Racing Team (DNRT).
Having already organised races in the United Arab Emirates, Hungary, Spain, The Netherlands and Italy, CREVENTIC and DNRT are now exploring new territories again with their first-ever race to be held in France. “We have always had plenty of interest from French teams and drivers for our events and therefore, it was a logical step for us to look for possibilities to stage a race in France as well,” Gerrie Willems explains. “The Paul Ricard circuit has fantastic facilities and is perfectly suited for endurance racing with its variety of different track lay-outs. It is also a very safe circuit with wide run-off areas. The region with the French Mediterranean coast nearby is fantastic, too, so everything is in place to make this event a success.”
After the Hankook 24H DUBAI (8-10 January, 2015), the Hankook 12H ITALY-MUGELLO (13-14 March, 2015) and the Hankook 12H ZANDVOORT (24-25 April), the Hankook 24H CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD will be the fourth round of the 2015 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. “We have set the date of this race in early July to start the second half of our six-round season and to allow teams to take part in the Nürburgring 24-hour race as well,” Gerrie Willems says. “Of course, this time of year is ideal to combine participation in the race with a holiday in the area as well!”
Technical regulations and class structures for the Hankook 24H CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD are identical with those of the other rounds of the 24H SERIES powered by Hankook. Premium tyre manufacturer Hankook will again be the title sponsor and exclusive tyre supplier for the event. Commentary by the expert team of Radio Show Limited, well known from Radio Le Mans, is planned for the Hankook 24H CIRCUIT PAUL RICARD, as are live video streaming of the entire race and live timing throughout the event.
