After Krohn Racing in September, Michael Shank Racing is the second American team to put its trust in the Onroak Automotive Ligier JS P2 sports prototype.

Michael Shank Racing finished sixth in its first season in the Tudor USCC with a DP (Daytona Prototype), and in the second year of the American Championship the team has decided to run an LM P2 sports prototype, which it will debut in the Sebring 12 Hours. Onroak Automotive is delighted to be a part of this new adventure with Michael Shank and is also very proud that a team of this stature has chosen the Ligier JS P2.

The Ligier JS P2 made a stunning debut in the Le Mans 24 Hours with pole position and second place in the LM P2 category: all three cars entered saw the flag in the 24-hour race. It also made a success of its first outing on American territory in September in Austin by setting pole position in both the FIA WEC LM P2 and the Tudor USCC categories. In the latter race it finished second confirming the potential of Onroak Automotive’s new car.

In the past few weeks it has clinched two pole positions and two victories in the last two rounds of the FIA WEC on the Fuji and Shanghai circuits to crown the already-rich results of the brand-new Ligier JS P2.

Jacques Nicolet, Onroak Automotive President : “The completion of this agreement with MSR for the sale of a Ligier JS P2 is a great satisfaction for Onroak Automotive. MSR is one of the best-established, well-known teams in endurance in the United States. The fact that they have chosen us to make the transition to LM P2 is a real reward for all the efforts we’ve invested this year to make ourselves known on the American continent. I would like to wish MSR the greatest possible success in this fresh chapter in their history, and we’ll do all we can to support them in this new adventure.”
