The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron heads north of the border this week taking their annual pilgrimage to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, ONT for the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix.

Fielding two ORECA FLMO9 prototypes, BAR1 Motorsports hopes to have an edge with the No. 8 Evident Capital car driven by Canadian natives Kyle Marcelli and Chris Cumming.

The No. 7 entry for BAR1 features a livery announcing the new Percy Jackson movie, Sea of Monsters opening August 7th. The No. 7 car will be driven by Tomy Drissi and Rusty Mitchell.

One of the fastest tracks on the American Le Mans Series season, the 2.459-mile, 10-turn Canadian Tire Motorsport Park road course is very popular among Series drivers. The combined high-speed corners and challenging elevation changes provides thrills for both fans and drivers alike.

Team owner is optimistic about BAR1′s chances.

“We are hoping this week can be a catalyst and turning point of the season for us.

“We had a strong car in 2012 and Kyle Marcelli is consistently fast here at his home track. Tomy Drissi has also had his share of successes here.

“With a good result here, I’m confident we can carry the momentum throughout the rest of the season and put ourselves in a position to challenge for the championship.”

The two hour and forty five minute Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix will air live on ESPN2 at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 21.
