A first season always really flies by, something Olivier Muytjes of Level Racing also experienced in 2010. In their maiden season this brand new team became vice-champion in the GT Open of the Belcar Endurance Championship and now in this 2011 season the young team is facing the challenge of having to perform even better. Level Racing will be concentrating on two fronts in 2011, with on the one hand the Belcar Endurance Championship on home ground and the new European Blancpain Endurance Series on the other. Both these championships include the 24 Hours of Zolder and the 24 Hours of Spa on their programmes and because there’s never two without three, the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring is also on the menu.

“A year really does fly by, but this vice champion’s title clinched by Bert Redant and Chris Mattheus made this year a great success”, Olivier Muytjens explained during the recent Belcar Endurance Championship test day. “We took advantage of the winter months to thoroughly check out the equipment and at the same time restructure the team and tackle some of the problems. Because in all honesty, for one and all such an initial year is quite a learning curve, regardless of budgets and ambitions. This is why I’m delighted to have ended off the 2010 season on such a high note. Proof of our sound work is the fact that the drivers we worked with during 2010, will be back with us again this season.”

As such Level Racing will therefore be combining both Belgian and European programmes: Belcar Endurance Championship + 24 Hours of Zolder  Level Racing will be entering two Porsche 911 Supercup in the GT Open class on home ground: Bert Redant-Chris Mattheus/Ward Sluys-Gino Van der Biest

Bert Redant: “Our second season with the team, an improved car and the experience of the vice-champion’s title, which implies that there are not many other options when it comes to ambitions. We want to perform as well if not better, which in our case means going for the title. I’m delighted to be able to carry on in this field, because for our type of drivers the Belcar GT Open class is perfect for us. I’m really looking forward to the start of the season.”

Gino van der Biest: “I now have quite a few motorsport seasons under my belt, what with Seat and BMW in touring car racing and I will now be concentrating with Ward on a full season with the Level Racing Porsche. My personal ambition is to improve race by race and who knows even grab a few podium places.”

Blancpain Endurance Series + 24 Hours of Spa. Level Racing will be entering a Porsche 911 Supercup in the GT Open of the Blancpain Endurance Series: Brody-Cyril Calmon

Brody: “I’m out to do something different and yet not fully change sides entirely… This is why I have opted once again for an endurance championship with Level Racing and Porsche. On the other hand the Blancpain Endurance Series offers me the opportunity to race on some great circuits abroad. Our ambition is undoubtedly to clinch a podium in our class and why not even an excellent result in the 24 Hours of Spa.”

For the 24 Hours of Spa Christoff Corten is the definite third driver, joining the team’s regular drivers Brody and Cyril Calmon.

Christoff Corten: “I would love to finish off the European GT championship with Level Racing, with the 24 Hours of Spa as the highlight. Presently my budget only allows me to compete in the 24 Hours of Spa, but I’m not giving up as I’m out to find a budget for the entire championship. This is why I’m still looking for partners willing to invest in a young driver. Today I got to know the car and I must admit as compared to last year it has improved no end.”

Level Racing and Agoriad join forces for a good cause. The Eupen based Level Racing team not only has its heart in racing, but children also. The non-profit organisation VZW Agoriad – additional details on www.vzwagoriad.be – supports children in Columbia and together with Level Racing they will be setting up a campaign during the 24 Hours of Spa.
