After confirming the involvement with Superstars Series 2012, Thomas Biagi’s sportive programme for the forthcoming season is enriched with a comeback to endurance racing: the driver from Bologna will be among the protagonists of the Italian GT Championship at the wheel of a BMW Z4 GT3 lined up by BMW Team Italy.

Biagi will also take part in some rounds of the Blancpain Endurance Series, including the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

Thomas Biagi:
“It is a delight to keep racing with BMW Team Italy for the third year in a row in a programme that is drawn alongside with Superstars. The BMW Z4 GT3 is a very refined car in all the smallest details, extremely competitive since its debut and with wide development margins which adds further motivation to this new challenge. Coming back to the fascinating endurance races, that awarded me with a lot of satisfaction in the past, is another aspect that increases my desire to get soon on track in a season that will be made of eighteen racing weekends summing up to a total of thirty-six races, all enjoying live TV coverage. This is going to be a very intense undertaking which is not far from that of a Formula 1 programme”.

Jens Marquardt (BMW Motorsport Director):
“As a double FIA GT champion, Biagi is one of the most experienced GT drivers around and won the Italian Superstars Series for BMW Team Italy in 2010. It is fantastic that the BMW Z4 GT3 will also be racing in Italy this season. ROAL Motorsport has successfully flown the flag for BMW in recent years, and has tasted success in the Superstars Series and the World Touring Car Championship. I am certain that Roberto Ravaglia’s team, with the support of BMW Italy, will also cause a stir on the GT circuit”.
