Lamborghini Racing Team UK has announced that they have acquired a V10 Gallardo with which to enter the European Blancpain Lamborghini Super Trofeo starting at the next round at Silverstone, England on 3rd June. Rising Welsh GT racer 18 year-old Jake Rattenbury will fill one of the seats while a second driver will be announced shortly.

The Super Trofeo is widely regarded as being the world’s fastest one-make, four-wheel drive series and visits some of Europe’s most classic motor racing venues including Monza, Spa Francorchamps, Paul Ricard and Silverstone. Lamborghini Racing Team UK is a new Company and is part of the MTECH Group.

Mike Edmonds, M.D. and Team Principal: ” I’m very pleased that we have been able to seal the deal for the Gallardo. We’re ambitious and we’ve been quietly putting together a strong engineering team here at the MTECH Group led by former F1 Williams man Les Jones to back those ambitions. I see the Lamborghini Racing Team UK and the move into the Super Trofeo as a natural development of that. The car will be a big step up from the Ginetta that Jake has been driving recently though I’m confident that it won’t be too big a step too soon. He’s a quick young driver and someone we’ve long had an interest in and I’m sure that he’ll get all the assistance and advice he needs.”
