Dan Walmsley has been appointed Strakka Racing Team Manager, taking overall responsibility for the running of the team as well as heading the technical department. Dan, an Oxford Brookes University graduate with a degree in automotive engineering, joined Strakka Racing in March 2009 and became Chief Engineer later the same year. He has been at the forefront of the team’s evolution from its Le Mans 24 Hours winning LMP2 programme in the Le Mans Series to its current LMP1 project in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Having recently moved to Silverstone village, near Strakka Racing’s workshop, Dan will continue to work closely with Karl Patman (Assistant Team Manager), Jonathan Moury (Performance Engineer) and the talented and dedicated team of technicians and staff.
Strakka Racing would like express its gratitude to Piers Phillips, the out-going Team Principal / Technical Director, for the outstanding contribution he has made to the team since joining at the end of 2008, and wish him every success in future projects.
