Races seven and eight of the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring meant a significant step forward for Team rhino’s Leipert Motorsport, as especially the German-Swiss duo David Mengesdorf / Raffi Bader gave a sensational performance in Lamborghini Gallardo LP 600+ no. 11. On Saturday, they started under difficult weather conditions from position 25 and finished in 12th place; and one day later, they managed to repeat this feat: Having started from position 28, they finished the race in 13th place.

During the first half of race one, Mengesdorf drove the Lamborghini on wet grounds and finished sensationally in 8th place. During the driver change to Bader, the team changed to wet tyres, which was not the worst idea as there were odd showers. However, Bader spun round during one of the stronger showers and consequently finished in 12th place. Wet tyres were also necessary on Sunday, and the 3.618 km circuit remained wet during the entire race. Having started from position 28, Bader and Mengesdorf crowed once more. Fast laps and a perfect pit stop pushed them forward position by position, especially during the second half of the race, and they finished the race in a very good 13th place. Mengesdorf once again gave a marvellous performance which results from his participation in two racing series (ADAC GT Masters and FIA GT3 European Championships) in which he participates together with team and the Lamborghini.

Duo Oleg Petrishin from Russia and Korbinian Beier from Germany who drove sister car no. 12 unfortunately failed to finish the first race due to a spin. On Sunday, they had steady laps and reached 36th place. For Baier, it was the second race in a Lamborghini this season. He had absolutely no racing experience in rain prior to this and still presented himself very well.

Team Manager, Ingo Leipert, explained: “Finally, a clear upward trend was noticeable during this ADAC GT Masters weekend. It was nice to see that we improved by so many positions in both races. Even the pit stops were perfect. Therefore, we have a positive lookout on the forthcoming ADAC GT Masters races.”

The next races of the ADAC GT Masters will take place at the Red-Bull-Ring in Austria on 11th and 12th August, 2012.
