Ginetta can today confirm the seven teams set to race a Ginetta G57-P2 in the inaugural rounds of the Creventic 24H Proto Series. New faces HHC Motorsport, Atech Racing Dubai and Optimum Motorsport will join Graff Racing, Century Motorsport, CWS Racing and Simpson Motorsport.

Supporting the Dubai 24 Hours on 10 – 11 January 2017, many teams are using the races to expand their Ginetta career ladder; adding the prototype platform to their existing Ginetta championship and international GT racing portfolios.

HHC Motorsport were the team behind now-Ginetta Factory Driver Charlie Robertson’s Junior (2012) and SuperCup (2014) championship titles. Having recently announced an entry into British GT4, they are looking forward to making their debut on the international stage.

Charlie Kemp, HHC Motorsport Team Manager; “It’s great to be on-board with Ginetta for the 24H Proto Series, the G57-P2 is a fantastic car that sees more and more exciting opportunities to race it open up around the world all the time. There will be some stiff competition but we look forward to the challenge and taking the team to the international stage.”

Optimum Motorsport are regulars in the Dubai 24 hour race itself, having previously taken class wins in 2012 and 2015 with their Ginetta GT4 cars. They will be joined on the grid by fellow Dubai 24 hour class winning team, Century Motorsport. They make their second appearance with the Ginetta G57-P2, having taken a podium during their debut with the car in the V de V Championship finale at Estoril on 5-6 November 2016.

Shaun Goff, Optimum Motorsport Team Owner; “It’s very important to have a ladder from entry level motorsport through to Le Mans. As an established team which currently operates in all levels of racing up to GT3, having this opportunity to be involved with prototypes is next logical step for us. Being no stranger to the Creventic series and having finished fifth overall in GT3 and winning the SP3 GT4 class on two occasions in Dubai, it would be great to start 2017 with a win in Ginetta G57 P2.”

The teams join experienced G57-P2 entrants Simpson Motorsport and CWS Racing, as well as previously announced new team, Graff Racing and Atech Racing Dubai.

Pascal Rauturier, Graff Racing Team Manager; “I am very happy to be collaborating with Ginetta. We have the same objectives which are to provide a quality service and a fast car for our drivers of the Ginetta G57-P2 in the fantastic Dubai 24 Hour support series which launches in January.”

Nathan Freke, Team Principal Century Motorsport; “Stepping into the Prototype arena is something we have always aspired to do and we couldn’t have got off to a better start, finishing on the podium at our first event in Estoril. Our driver line up was very strong which was a big factor, and I’m confident that our driver pairing for Dubai will be just as strong.

“Having had a little more time with the car ahead of this event, it’s given us a good chance to get a better understanding of the Ginetta G57-P2, and crucially, we’ve got a fantastic design on the car so it should stand out. 2017 is shaping up to be a very exciting year for Century Motorsport, and this is one of our major new programmes and I certainly hope we can achieve some top results in Dubai to get our year off to the best possible start.”

The 24H Proto Series 2017 gets underway with the triple header of three hour races supporting the Dubai 24 Hours. Further 12 Hour prototype race(s) in Europe are due for announcement by Creventic in the near future.
