FFF Racing Team has nothing to lose and is targeting the top step of the podium with the sole McLaren of Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Adrian Quaife-Hobbs in the final round of the first ever Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup season at Circuito do Estoril (21-22 October).

Early season form suggested FFF Racing would be in the mix for the inaugural GT3 Le Mans Cup title, but the Italy-based outfit fell out of the race when it was hit by a run of misfortune with the #55 McLaren 650S of Hamaguchi and Quaife-Hobbs.

The FFF pairing were casualties in a first-corner collision at the Red Bull Ring, but rebounded with strong pace at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, where they threatened for the podium before a tyre issue resigned them to a below par fifth place finish.

However, FFF Racing has inherent pace and the team takes comfort from the speed it possessed at Spa as it heads into the final round of the first ever GT3 Le Mans Cup season at the historic Estoril racetrack.

With nothing to lose, Hamaguchi and Quaife-Hobbs can comfortably take a ‘win or bust’ approach at the former grand prix venue on the Portuguese coast and the drivers know they have enough to get in among the fight for victory with their Roger Dubuis-supported McLaren.

FFF Racing Team Owner, Sean Fu Songyang, said: “The inaugural Michelin GT3 Le Mans Cup has been a real rollercoaster for FFF Racing. Our drivers have possessed great speed for the duration and there’s no doubt the title was within reach without the misfortune Hiroshi (Hamaguchi) and Adrian (Quaife-Hobbs) have suffered in recent rounds, so we can take a lot of positives. What it means is that there’s nothing to lose by pushing for victory and spoiling the day for the title contenders at Estoril.”
