Safety equipment specialist ORECA Gear has chosen professional racing driver Sean Rayhall to represent its brand in North America. The 21-year-old Georgia native is both a young talent with a bright future and an eclectic racer, having driven in openwheel, prototype and GT categories. He joins a delegation of ORECA representatives including teams and drivers competing in various championships, such as Rally America and Global Rallycross.
ORECA Gear, experience in competition benefits the customer…
A culmination of years of work, the ORECA Gear range was launched in 2015, combining the expertise of ORECA Store, a European leader in equipment, parts and accessories distribution, and the ORECA Group, which has more than 40 years of competitive experience through its sporting and racecar manufacturing activities. Exclusively in North America, ORECA Gear offers the complete equipment outfit for a diverse set of uses, from road racing to rallycross, and rallying to off-road. Products have been developed in the field, on the track, and in some of the toughest environments in racing – with one goal : provide solutions to competitors of all levels with the best possible quality/style/price/technical specs available. Fully in line with the latest homologation standards, ORECA Gear is the perfect alternative to premium brands.
Sean Rayhall, the new face of ORECA Gear…
Having entered the North American market last year, the ORECA Gear brand has logically chosen a young driver with a bright future. Born in Winston, Georgia, Sean Rayhall was the youngest North American driver to win an openwheel race. He was then the youngest driver to win a National race, in the Skip Barber Nationals. In the past few years, Sean Rayhall has raced in several series and disciplines – mirroring ORECA Gear’s product lines – with much success, including GT, prototypes, stock cars and openwheel. At 21 years of age, he holds 11 titles, including one Cooper Tires Prototype Lites championship (2013) and one SCCA Pro Formula Enterprises (2010) title, 80 wins, including two in Indy Lights (2015) and more than 100 podium finishes. Panoz DeltaWing Racing driver this season in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, he also races in the European Le Mans Series behind the wheel of an LM P3.
“I’m extremely excited to be a part of ORECA Gear. ORECA has found a way to be at the top of every racing endeavor they’ve been a part of and I’m sure this one is next! The gear is dedicated to different level of drivers but surprisingly some of the things are actually better than my current very-advanced stuff on their first try. I can’t wait to grow with the brand and see the gear developed, after all, driver comfort is key!” said Sean Rayhall.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sean Rayhall to the ORECA brand flag-bearers in North America. Our partnership is the result of a mutual trust and common motivation. Sean is a young driver who is used to driving in, with success, several different cars and championships. This corresponds perfectly to our brand’s identity. We hope to share in many successes and continue in our development,” said Jean-Philippe Eddaïkra, ORECA Group Director of Development.
The ORECA Gear product line covers all driver needs – helmets, firesuits, gloves, boots, shoes, underwear – and cockpit needs – seats, harnesses, steering wheels. These products are used by numerous competitors in various series, including our partners CORE autosport in the RedBull Global Rallycross series, Dynasty Racing in SCCA and Agatino Fortunato in Rally America.
ORECA Gear products are available through several official dealers including Winding Road Racing, All German Motorsports and RedStart Racing. In addition, the ORECA brand will be attending the next PRI Trade Show in Indianapolis (December 8-10, 2016).
