The FIA WEC resumes after the summer break. With the European part of the season now over, the top Endurance series visits other continents, with a sequence of five stops in Mexico, the US, Japan, China and Bahrain. There is a lot of expectation ahead of the race on Saturday 3 September at Mexico City, a novelty for the series. The race will take place on the historic and renewed track named after the Rodríguez brothers, which hosts again the F.1 Grand-Prix since last year, in front of a huge and passionate crowd.

After a start of the season that has developed in crescendo, Joel Camathias, together with team mates Wolf Henzler and Christian Ried, aims at further improving at the wheel of their KCMG-prepared Porsche 911 RSR. The Swiss-German crew is hopeful in a good result, despite the unknowns of a track new to everybody.

Joel Camathias:

“I am really anxious to be driving again, and excited of doing so at a track like the Hermanos Rodríguez, which is part in motorsport heritage. In Mexico, I have only raced at Monterrey, many years ago, but I remember perfectly the huge crowds of cheering spectators. They really are hot racing lovers there! It is the first time that the WEC stops at Mexico City after decades, the track is basically a new one, most of the drivers don’t know it and the teams have no own data to use as a base. It’s a situation that can certainly bring some surprises. I am confident, though, because the KCMG team has worked perfectly so far, proving it can cope with any situation, and bringing our Porsche to a high level of competitiveness. I am sure we will do well and we’ll try to aim at a podium finish.”
