Panoz DeltaWing Racing will start seventh on the grid in tomorrow’s Continental Tire Road Race Showcase at Road America. Despite an untimely red flag, Sean Rayhall put in a great lap of 1:57.227 to secure the team’s starting position.

Practice went well with the DeltaWing coupe gaining pace in each session. Over the 55 practice laps the team worked on the set-up to boost performance and speed, and both Rayhall and Katherine Legge ran quicker times, improving the coupe’s fastest lap time by over two and a half seconds.

Road America has historically been a good track for the DeltaWing with its long straights and fast corners. The team look forward to what should be an exciting race tomorrow, the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase and the eighth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Tomorrow’s race begins at 3:05pm CT with coverage starting on FOX Sports 1 from 3pm and IMSA.com for those watching outside of the U.S.

Sean Rayhall
“Great effort by the Panoz DeltaWing Racing team for qualifying in seventh. I really feel we could have been better than that but unfortunately the red flag limited our chances to get that faster lap in. I think we have a good race car for tomorrow. Big thanks to the team and Dr Panoz for all the hard work.”

Katherine Legge
“I always look forward to coming to Road America as it’s my favorite track. Really pleased to see the gains we have made with the car. Practice was positive and it should be a great race tomorrow.”

Tim Keene
“Very proud of the work by the entire team as we have definitely made improvements. Both Katherine and Sean have done a really good job of taking care of the car and wheeling it very quickly. I think with a little bit of luck tomorrow, there’s a chance of a really good finish.”
