After securing two podium positions at Road America in June, Bentley Team Absolute is ready to take on Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend for the latest round of the Pirelli World Challenge Championship. Adderly Fong will seek to continue his podium streak in the No. 88 Bentley Continental GT3.
Pirelli World Challenge teams have had a month off since Road America. Bentley Team Absolute and Fong are eager to prove its pole-winning and double podium performance there was no fluke. With his 4.0L twin-turbo V8–powered Bentley Continental GT3, Fong is ready to tackle another unknown circuit with confidence.
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is a popular 14-Turn, 2.4-mile road course in the Ohio countryside. It features a mix of fast turns and technical corners with some rolling elevation changes.
Bentley Team Absolute is currently third in the GT Team Championship heading into Rounds 14 and 15 of the season. Fong is eighth in the GT Driver Championship.
Both Saturday and Sunday’s 50-minute races will be streamed live on www.world-challenge.com. Highlights from the weekend will be shown on CBS Sports Network, Sunday, Aug. 7, at 4pm ET.
ADDERLY FONG (HK) #88 BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT3
“We’re all feeling very good. The pace we’ve been having in Asia and the development we have done seems to be all in the right direction. I believe we now have a deep understanding of the Bentley Continental GT3 in terms of how to set it up on the specific tires. So we’re looking forward to keeping that competitive edge in the remaining rounds.
“As are all the tracks in America this year, Mid-Ohio will be a new experience for me. I have only seen footage of the track and done a bit of simulation, but it looks like Bentley territory sure enough!
“With the blink of an eye we’re already midway through the second half of the season. I didn’t have the greatest starts here in America, but I believe now we at Absolute Racing have found our groove. I hope to be able to take one race at a time, finishing every round in the highest position I can and along the way, maybe take my first win!”
