B-Quik Racing is adding an additional event to its 2016 racing programme as Daniel Bilski will make a one-off appearance in Audi’s pan-Asian ‘R8 Cup’ when the one make championship visits Thailand next month (July 23-24) for its second round of the year, which will take place at Buriram’s Chang International Circuit.
This is the fifth season of the Audi Cup but the first time the series has ever visited Thailand while for B-Quik Racing there are plenty of reasons to lodge an entry.
Last year B-Quik Racing made racing history by becoming the first private team to win the prestigious Amateur (AM) Championship title in the history of the Audi’s ‘R8 Cup’, Daniel putting in a superb season long performance behind the wheel to wrap up the crown. That represented our first international title and came in our inaugural year in the Audi Cup.
This year is Daniel’s second season in Thailand Super Series and after campaigning our Porsche 997 GT3 Cup in 2015 during his Super Car ‘rookie’ year he’s drafted in the Audi R8 LMS Cup he raced to the international Audi title last year to underpin his 2016 campaign in Super Car GTM. That’s reaped instant results as he finished on the podium during all three races that made up the Thailand Super Series season opener in Buriram back in May.
The Audi remains in ‘R8 Cup’ specification and so is homologated to that series’ technical requirements, meaning it’s ready to join the Buriram round as a one off entry. Daniel will in fact be in action at Chang International Circuit a fortnight before when Thailand Super Series visits the North East for its second round of 2016 so he will be primed and ready to race on a circuit that he knows quite well.

“Whilst it wasn’t possible for me to compete in the Audi Cup series this year, I’m delighted that we will be able to enter the Buriram round. Winning the Audi Cup AM Championship last year was the biggest title of my career to date and the first major international series title for B-Quik Racing.
“However, more importantly, I met so many fantastic people, raced on amazing circuits, and had a ridiculous amount of fun. All of this makes the Audi Cup, the people who run it and the people who compete in it, very special to me.
“Given this is the first foray into Thailand for the series and it being B-Quik Racing’s home country, Henk and I both agreed that we really needed to rejoin our friends from the Audi Cup for the Thai weekend, using the same title-winning car that I raced last season.
“Again, I want to thank Henk and the whole B-Quik Racing Team for making this possible, and look forward to joining our friends and fellow competitors in Buriram for the Audi Cup, it’s going to be an exciting weekend for us.”
