Bentley Team Absolute heads to Road America for the rounds 12 and 13 of the Pirelli World Challenge, this weekend, with its No. 88 Continental GT3 of Adderly Fong (HK). The identical No. 87 car will not run, as its driver, Andrew Palmer (US), continues to recover in the hospital.

While the team’s thoughts remain with Palmer, crew members continue to be positive and they hope to carry on their success from GT Asia a fortnight ago.

Currently 11th in the GT Drivers Championship, Fong faces yet another unknown circuit, but has the power of the 4.0L twin-turbo V8–powered Bentley Continental GT3 behind him to take on the long straights of Road America.

“It was great to get a podium in GT Asia and I’m hoping I can continue this here in Pirelli World Challenge, this weekend,” commented Fong.  “I’ll miss having my team-mate alongside me; not only is he a great friend but he has helped me learn the American tracks of which he is very familiar. I’m going to take his positivity and confidence to Road America and I aim to win us some hardware to share.”

Ahead of the race weekend, Andrew’s manager Mike Perry made the following statement on behalf of the Palmer family:

“As Andrew continues to recover, we are all very grateful for the overwhelming support from the entire motorsport community.

“Both Sharon Hospital and Hartford Hospital in Connecticut have been amazing, and we would like to thank the incredible doctors and nurses for everything they have done so far.

“Andrew has demonstrated great strength and shows signs of improvement everyday, and, although we are not yet in a position to give an update on Andrew’s long-term prognosis, we are remaining positive. Your respect of the family’s privacy at this time is appreciated.”

The team continues to evaluate options for the No. 87 entry for the remaining half of the PWC season, but at present time, a decision has not been made.
