The fifth Steering Committee meeting with representatives of the Japanese Super GT promoters, DTM promoter ITR and all the Japanese (Honda, Nissan, Toyota) and German (Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz) manufacturers involved was held today, on 11th May, in Tokyo. On the occasion of the meeting, the participants signed a joint declaration of intent saying that the regulations of the future ‘Class 1’ have to be created and presented to the public until September 2017. All the manufacturers and promoters once again confirmed to keep on actively working on the joint future.
After the meeting, ITR Chairman Hans Werner Aufrecht said: “During today’s meeting we made another step forward regarding the harmonisation of the regulations and defined the next milestones on the way to doing so. Furthermore, we succeeded in describing the way along the two main goals: cost reduction and geographic expansion of the marketing campaigns.”
