The two test days ended today, officially opened the Edoardo Liberati 2016 season, looking forward his debut this weekend in the GT Asia Series at the Gwangju track (South Korea)

In this new challenge, the Italian racer will share a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 car lined up by FFF Racing Team by ACM, with a young and very fast driver such as Andrea Amici.

Last season member of the the Lamborghini Squadra Corse Young Drivers Program, 23-year-old Liberati has been promoted this year to the GT3 Junior Program as a result of the PRO-AM victory in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Asia and of the second place achieved in the World Finals at Sebring, in 2015.

“I am very happy to race this year in the GT Asia Series – said Liberati – The level of the championship is very high, with almost all the main car-brands involved. Among them, Lamborghini has for sure the right potential to do well. I trust in my new team and I am convinced our crew, me and Amici, will be competitive soon”.

The first out of six rounds of the calendar scheduled for this weekend at Gwangju, a 5,6 kms track that already hosted the F1 Korean Grand Prix, is completely new for Liberati. The following rounds will be at Buriram, in Thailand (12 June), Okayama (3 July ) and Fuji (17 July), in Japan, and then Shanghai (4 September) and Zhejiang (23 October) both in China.

The Gwangju weekend will kick off on Friday with the three practice sessions. Qualifying and Race 1 are scheduled for Saturday and Race 2 for Sunday. At least 17 GT3 cars are awaited.
