With the season now underway for SuperGT, its time for the first of two rounds at this iconic circuit. Nestled in at the foot of mount Fuji, this track will be posing a significant challenge for Lyons and Audi Team Hitotsuyama. The racing at Fuji speedway has been hard on the R8 over the years but with the introduction of the new R8 LMS this season, things might just be looking up for the GT300 outfit. The race will be taking place on Japans most famous holiday period, “Golden week”. Being within an easy drive to Tokyo, massive crowds in the region of 100’000 cramming the stands will be expected, and all will be expectant of a great race which as always Fuji International Speedway will provide.

Richard Lyons:

“Fuji is a circuit I quite enjoy but in recent years luck has not been on our side. It’s not known to be the R8′s strongest circuit but winter testing showed that with this years car we might have found some pace. This time it’s a 500km race and changeable weather for race day so it might throw up some great racing. A podium would be great but solid points are the target”
