Top British sportscar driver Adam Carroll will join the Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 team for the next two rounds of the British GT Championship, at Rockingham (May 1st) and Oulton Park (May 30th). Carroll will partner with Liam Griffin in the Irish TV-backed Lamborghini, which claimed third place on its debut at Brands Hatch in the opening round of the series.

Whilst Alexander Sims will be Liam’s partner from round four at Silverstone onwards, the team had been searching for another established British GT pro to take his place in the early races when he has clashing duties for BMW Motorsport. Lamborghini Squadra Corse provided top factory driver, Fabio Babini, for Brands Hatch, but the Italian already had an incredibly busy schedule planned in the Blancpain GT series and the American IMSA Sportscar Championship. Hence when Adam became available it made perfect sense for him to take over at two circuits he knows very well.

This marks a return to British GT for Carroll, who last featured in the Championship in the penultimate round of last year’s series at Snetterton, aboard the FF Corse Ferrari 458 he shared with Gary Eastwood. The 33-year-old Northern Irishman is currently also contesting the WEC GTE Class in a Gulf Racing Porsche, and has previously been a race winner in the GP2 F1-feeder series and A1 GP Champion, as well as a Honda Formula 1 team test driver.

The Rockingham British GT encounter will not be his first race in a new Lamborghini Huracan GT3, however, as Adam partnered Darren Nelson in his car in the GT Cup series opener at Donington Park last weekend with the pair claiming a pole position and a second place.

Adam Carroll: “I’m really looking forward to racing with Barwell for the first time in their new Lamborghini. Liam and I will make a strong pairing and we should have a good chance of some top results in the next two rounds.”
