The test at the Circuit de Catalunya-Barcelona was concluded today, after a second day of intense work for the attending teams and drivers. Despite the forecasts, the rain only appeared in the fourth and last session, leaving plenty of time to work in dry conditions.
Like yesterday, the TF Sport Aston Martin of Hankey-Yoluc posted the best time (1.46.073), in session 7, beating again the Balfe Motorsport pair by a very slim margin (0.048 seconds). Keen-Balfe topped the rankings in the first session of the morning. Third-fastest today was the AF Corse Ferrari of Sdanewitsch-Lémeret, while Teo Martín Motorsport continued familiarizing with the new BMWs M6, which improved progressively their lap times to take 4th and 5th berst times of the day, with Ramos-Rodríguez and Monje-Yacamán, respectively.
The two German cars were the only ones to take the track in the last, very wet session. All cars were in action today, despite some not using their transponder, with the exception of the brand new Porsche 911R of German squad a-works, which had a drive-shaft issue in yesterday’s final session.
The next key track activity will be the real start of the 2016 season, with the full grid, at Estoril on 22-24 April. In the meantime, some announcements to be watched…
